If I were Prime Minister…

I would not care about having the tallest buildings and the fanciest cities. For instance I wouldn’t have built the southern star.
Health- Today’s hospitals have little beds and long waiting lists. This is something I would immediately change. I would spend money on extending the wards and hiring more medical staff especially surgeons.
Environment- I would stop logging trees and do more about the water supply, by building more reservoirs and promoting water tanks.
Economy- I would reduce the cost of unreasonable taxes. Like house and land tax and other things like that.

ICT

This term I have learnt the most in ICT. We have done things on Excel, Publisher and Google Sketch Up. On Excel I learnt the most as we decided to create our own fake juice bar using formulas and getting actual prices. I really enjoyed it but when I had finished I found out I’d lost about $30.00. In publisher we have been working on creating a website but at first I had a good plan now it has become a complicated mass of links though I’m getting there. Google Sketch up was complicated to use but I got there in the end. Recently we had a test in excel which was easy for me and taught us rather than tested us.

Prepostition Poem

This month the class has been working on prepositions. So we wrote a poem where each line started with a preposition.

Pirates Treasure

Aboard the ship of glory,
According to the crew,
On this trip nothing stops us,
Except the ugly sea goo,
Off on our journey,
Toward the treasure abroad,
In front of us stood piles of treasure and,
Behind me the crew stood in awe,
In addition to the gold,
behind us was a sign saying,
“Because of recent Tragedy pirates BEWARE”
Ahhhhhhhh…..
After that day we all came home as MILLONAIRES!

Special or just another one for the wall?

Hi,
I recently won 3 medals at my Life Saving state championships, silver and a bronze. I was extremely proud of myself and thought they were very special. Another boy in my age group that’s from my club won 11 medals and I wondered if he finds all his medals special or if they just go in his draw like the 8 medals he won last year. Does he train and work hard to earn all his medals or is he just naturally good at life saving. I liked standing on the podium for all my medals but my bronze medal meant the most to me because I worked hard to get it and felt it was the one that I well and truly earned.
Have you ever won a medal or a trophy? Did you feel you earned it because you had trained hard to get it?

Bye for Now,

Lauren

COOL FACTS

  • I’m a Harry Potter fan.
  • I’m also a bit of an author and just as hobby I like to write Harry Potter fan fiction.
  • Since I was young I have always wanted to be a paediatrician having spent quite some time with them because of my 5 broken bones.

Family
I’m the eldest in my family out of 4 kids. My younger sister Chelsea is in Grade 4,  my younger brother is in year 3 and my youngest sister is 2.

Friends
My friends are pretty cool. My best-est friends are Tierne and Morgan, we were made best friends because our parents wouldn’t have been able to handle us as sisters.
